##Account activation and onboarding
Getting started is simple. Your activation path usually depends on how your school or district has set things up for you:
- District Partnerships (Clever/ClassLink):
Log in via your district's portal (Clever or ClassLink) and click the Khan Academy icon. - Standard Activation Emails:
If you receive an email with the subject "Activate your teacher account," click the "Confirm your account" button. - Enterprise Starter:
Look for an invitation email titled "Invite Action needed: Link or Create your Khan Academy account" and follow the prompts. - Personal Accounts:
Visit classroom.khanacademy.org and use your chosen login method.
Once you’re in, just click “Get started” to walk through a quick onboarding. You’ll be able to pick the subjects you’re teaching this year and even get a head start on planning your coursework.

###Using class overview and assigning unit missions
Think of the Class Overview page as your go-to hub for classroom insights. It gives you a clear, real-time look at how your students are doing, so you can spot exactly what’s working and where they might need a little extra support. Getting comfortable with these tools helps you make informed, confident choices that truly help your students thrive.
###Course selection
Before assigning work, head to the Settings page within a class. Under the Class Courses tile, use the "Add or Edit course" button to select the content that aligns with your needs. You can preview courses before saving your selection.
###Creating unit missions
Unit Missions are the recommended way to provide students with a clear mastery pathway.
-
Kick things off: Click “Create an assignment” on your Class Overview page and choose “Assign content.”
-
Select: Choose your course and then select the specific unit(s).
-
Set the flow: Drag and drop units to put them in the order that works best for your curriculum.
-
Pick your dates: Choose when assignments are due. We suggest two-week windows to keep things manageable, but you’re in total control.
-
All set: Select the classes or specific students you’d like to reach and click “Assign.” You’re all done!
Today's insights
Think of Today’s Insights as your helpful morning briefing. It lives right at the top of your page to help you see exactly where your attention is needed most.
- Helping you prioritize: It looks at your students’ recent work to show you who might need a little extra help or who just hit a milestone that deserves a high-five.
- Gentle suggestions: Instead of just showing data, this tool offers quick recommendations—like assigning a specific practice activity—to help you support your students right in the moment.
###Class performance
Just below your alerts, the Class Performance section helps you see the big picture of how your whole group is growing together.
- Celebrating growth: This view shows how your class is progressing toward proficiency, helping you see the collective growth across the room.
- Staying engaged: You can check in on fun participation goals, like the Gem Challenge, to see how motivated your students are feeling.
- Your command center: This is also your shortcut for accessing reports, creating rewards, or even launching a game to bring some extra energy to the classroom.
