Activity: Why do clothes develop static cling in a dryer?

In this hands-on activity, students will construct an electroscope and use a charged balloon to develop an understanding of Coulombโ€™s law. Students will then apply their results to explain why dryers cause so much static electricity to accumulate, and why clothes stick together as a result.
