Activity: How do we know when dinosaurs lived on Earth?
In this hands-on activity, students will model exponential decay using penny flips. Next, they'll apply that decay pattern to the radioactive decay of U-238. Lastly, students will explore how we can use the half-life and decay pattern of U-238 to determine the approximate ages of dinosaur fossils.
